My name is Sharon Malynyk and I am the heart and soul behind Tied, Twisted & True
which is based out of Regina, SK, Canada.
Crafting has always been a large part of my life. As a young girl, I did everything from
paint by numbers, to beading, to rug hooking and everything in between. I couldn’t get
enough and wanted to try everything. I haven’t outgrown that desire and passion for
crafting and creating and I hope that I never do.
I would say it all began with fiber arts for me at the early age of 8 years old when my
Grandmother taught me how to crochet. Because of that, crochet will always hold a
very special place in my heart and I am certain I will revisit it throughout the coming
years. Although I learned how to macrame in elementary school around the age of 10
(shhh, we won’t mention how long ago that really was), I had a chance to revisited it
again in 2018 when I attended a workshop and fell in love with it all over again. Thank
goodness it has been modernized a great deal since my elementary school days. The
limitless textures and patterns that are created from the mindful calmness that it allows,
brings me much peace and happiness as I continue to pursue the craft and hone my
skills along the way.
Even newer to me, is the art of dot painting (also known as pointillism, for the likeminded
crafting nerds out there like me). The designs and intricate details that a person
can create with the simplest of tools and acrylic paint are mind-blowing and endless. It
has become my therapy, my zen, my enjoyment on a daily basis. And of course, who
doesn’t love a beautiful mandala? I find them mesmerizing and almost enchanting.
There aren’t many days that go by that I don’t create or make something. Thank
goodness those days are few and far between because I feel lost without creating. Like
something is missing from my life. It is in my blood. That is why everything that I create
is truly from my heart. Each and every piece. As unique and engaging as the person
who is drawn to it.
I am excited to be able to share my passion of creativity with you all!
